HAPPY EASTER!!!

Good Friday instead of good Friday. There is a difference. With Easter approaching I have been doing some thinking. This will be short don't worry.

Why is the day that is verifiable, the day Christ died, variable? Where as the day that doesn't seem to be able to be nailed down, because the only witnesses are barn yard animals, is set in stone on the calendar.

I have my answer, you can think about it and figure it out for yourself.

Also why is it called Good Friday when that is the day Christ died?

Think about it.

  1. Its called Good Friday cause hes the one that had the really shitty day, SO your day cant be as bad as his.

  2. Because it has more to do with the early Church co opting pagan spring rituals and festivals than it does with the marking of a particular date.

  3. The early Church did not co-op a pagan holiday.

Jesus died on the last day of the Jewish passover. The Jews use the Lunar calendar. We are now on the Julius calendar.

Easter and Good Friday do not coincide exactly with Jewish passover because, Easter must ALWAYS be celebrated on the Lords Sabbath. Christians honor Sunday as that day.

Since Sunday is fixed so is Good Friday. Good Friday is called Good because when Jesus sacrificed his life on the cross the heavens opened to let sinners in. Before that no one was perfect enough, even Abraham.
